Is there an age requirement for the adventures?

​

While you consider Disney, a family-friendly company, the minimum age to go on Adventures by Disney trips is five years old.  Many trips have a higher age requirement.  You will see both a minimum and a suggested age for each trip.  The minimum age is the absolute youngest age allowed to book that trip.  The recommended age is the age the company feels is best to enjoy the journey fully.  Sometimes, while the child meets the minimum age requirement for a trip, they may not be allowed to participate in specific activities secondary to age, weight, or height restrictions.  This isn't always the case, and a child younger than the suggested age may be able to participate in everything despite the minimum age being less than suggested.  The best way to ensure your child can experience everything is to ask us before booking.

We will check in with Disney regarding your exact dates to clarify.  As the specific itinerary of trips can change, the most up-to-date information may be off the official website.  However, You can look at the website to get a preliminary idea.  Under each trip, you will find an itinerary.  Scan the itinerary for outings with a link to "see important notices." If you click the link, it contains warnings or notices regarding the activity.  In addition, trips may be designated as "adult-exclusive," which means everyone must be over 18 years old to go on the trip.

What is included in the price?

​

The prices listed are per person based on two people sharing a room.  Ages 12 and over receive adult pricing, and 11 and under receive child pricing.  However, there is a minimal difference in price for adults and children.  As these trips come at a higher price point, you need a clear sense of what is and isn't included when selecting your vacation.  Most notably, the airfare from your home airport to the destination is NOT included.  Adventure Guides and local experts are included to immerse you in the place and culture.  Transfers from the airport, hotel, and travel between destinations during the adventure are included.  The price includes luxury accommodations for the entire trip and admission fees for all events, including VIP and private events. Most meals are included, and the itinerary for the trip details which meals are included.  Some gratuities are included, such as porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity providers, local experts, and dining room staff for meals included in the adventure.  Gratuities to the adventure guides are not included.  Airfare between your home airport and the adventure airport is omitted.  Transportation between your home and home airport isn't included. Meals not in the itinerary will be extra.  Custom, immigration, passport, and visa fees are an additional cost. Laundry, telephone fees, and personal items are not included.  You will have to pay extra for alcohol unless it is noted as included for the event.  You will have the option to obtain your own or add travel insurance when booking your trip. If you're a traveler, it may be more economical to get your family an annual travel insurance plan.  We would happily obtain a quote for your family's trip or yearly plan to compare options.

How strenuous are the activities?  Are there accommodations for people with disabilities? Pregnancy?

​

You should review the itinerary for the adventure carefully.  Pay particular attention to how strenuous an activity may be. By booking, you indicate that you feel the activities are within the capabilities of everyone in your party.  Guests with impairments or disabilities may be unable to participate in activities.  Disney recommends that you consult with a physician to determine if you are eligible.  They do not permit their guides and employees to assist guests.  A member of your travel party must assist anyone with a disability. If you have questions regarding accommodations for a guest at your party, we're happy to check on that for you.  For cruise adventures, you must be less than 24 weeks pregnant.  While Adventures by Disney has no rules regarding pregnancy, airlines, and suppliers for each itinerary may have rules and restrictions for pregnancy.  Again, we can obtain this information once you tell us which trip and your gestational age at the end of the journey.

What types of vacations are offered by Adventures by Disney?

Adventures by Disney offers five categories of vacations:

Longer (6-10 days) land-based exploration of a geographic region (country or countries)

2. Escapes

Shorter (3-5 days) land-based exploration of a smaller area (city)

3. Expedition Cruises

Ocean-based exploration on a larger ship

4. River Cruises

River-based exploration on a smaller ship

5. Private Jet Adventures

One preplanned Disney Parks Around the World.

Otherwise, you can create your private adventure.

You can go just about anywhere you want to go.  Adventures are on all seven continents.  If you can't find exactly what you want, you can create your own custom private jet adventure.

Can you pair your adventures together?

​

Adventures by Disney designs specific trips for optional pairing.  The Amazon Escape pairs with the Galapagos Expedition Cruise.  The Adriatic Expedition Cruise pairs with the Italy Land Adventure. The Paris Escape pairs with the Seine River Cruise. We have noted this in the comments of our 2024 list at the bottom of the page.  However, if you book two trips and make connections, you might be able to pair other trips outside of these planned optional pairings.

Can I add on to a trip?

 

Adventures by Disney does offer the option to add nights onto the beginning or end of a trip based on the hotel availability for the correlating trip accommodations.  We'll be happy to check on and make these arrangements for you!

Can I add air transportation to my trip?

​

While we noted that airfare from your home to the adventure start destination is not included in the price of your trip, Adventures by Disney does offer the option to add on airfare for US-based trips.  If you're flying to another country, this is not an option. 

​

How much is the deposit to book the trip?

​

10% per person for land adventures, escapes, and river cruises

15% per person for expedition cruises

​

​

When is the final payment due?

​

90 days before land adventures and escapes

120 days before river cruises, expedition cruises, and private jet adventures

Do Adventures by Disney accept Disney Gift Cards and Disney Rewards?

​

Yes, you can pay with Disney Gift Cards and Rewards. 

​

​

What is the cancellation policy?

​

Your deposit is refundable until the earlier of:

14 days

72 hours if you book in a final payment timeframe

Return of your travel agreement

89 to 46 Days - 50% of the trip price is lost
45 to 0 Days - 100%

What if the trip I want is sold out?

​

You can be placed on a waitlist for a sold-out trip.  Your group will be contacted if another party cancels, creating enough available space for your entire party.  Parties for like size will be called in the order listed.

What does "Accepting Interest List" mean?

​

Adventures by Disney is obtaining a list of interest for this particular trip date.  If enough people express interest, the trip will become official, and continue to book until spots are filled.

Below, you'll find a Google sheet containing a list of all trips for 2024.  The tabs at the bottom allow you to select different sheets that short the trips by Destination, Date, or Minimum Age.  One of the frustrating aspects of the official site was the inability to see a list of trips that meet our travel dates or my children's ages.
